Without knowing what your friends and family are like, why not? I don't see what's wrong with liking something purely for aesthetic reasons, it's pretty much the basis of all fashion.
I will admit though, it brings up interesting issues for westerner Larme fans, concerning how they approach these risqué elements in the fashion especially if they just like how it looks, with no kink involved.
I've read many times over the years how a lot of women in Japan who wear street fashions do it as a form of escapism, and they have an arena of sorts to do this freely without recourse (Harajuku, etc) so with this in mind they have the ability to wear anything risqué without the same harsh judgement from the rest of polite Japanese society or how westerner societies would judge certain outfits, whether we like it or not. Also, lets face it, Risa Nakamura et al are MODELS, they work in a industry where they can wear pretty much what they want without having to care about upsetting the norm.
In short we can't get away with wearing what our Japanese counterparts wear because normie westerner society will judge you, but I've got enough confidence from years of being into this fashion, that at this point I don't care.

It's a damn shame that people like you keep banging on about this one element of Larme like its the entire fashion, when there are so many other sweet girly looks covered in the magazine. Larme at the moment seems to draw attention from the sexually repressed section of J-fashion and equally cringey daddy pandering bullshit in >>9349848 and >>9347526 both of which I wish would just fuck off already.
