>be like 7 or 8 years old with undiagnosed autism
>parents are comic geeks, dress me up as a princess character from some comic I don't even remember
>no idea wtf is going on but whatever, I'm a princess!
>everything is fun at first, parents happily chatting with their friends and people are calling me cute
>lots of people wanting to take pictures with me
>at first it's my parent's friends so I'm okay with it
>then strangers start wanting pictures
>one dude in particular (who is dressed as a random pirate and even talks like one) insists on hugging me and picking me up

>ask him to stop
>parents ask him to stop
>he doesn't
>I start crying
>he laughs and insists on people taking more pictures of him holding me while I bawl and try to escape from his grip
>father gets angry and yells at him
>dude yells back at my father
>I panic and bite down on the dude's arm
>he screams and drops me, then runs away
>mother is super upset and immediately takes me home
>father stays behind to make sure the dude gets kicked out
>I never attend any sort convention again
>the end

And now I wear lolita.

Doing this now and it's pretty nice to retreat into my own frilly world. Totally not healthy, but damn do I like it.
