Golden age is over for her, maybe. She's getting old and can't hide it, there's more and more impressive costumes even by total newbies who are like 15 years younger than her. 10 years ago it was extremely easy to get attention with a costume like this even by people who didn't know who this is supposed to be, now it would just be another costume among others(the photo is from a Finnish anime convention in 2004, this costume won the cosplay contest back then).

I'd say cosplay is going back to its roots when it was a nerd hobby for nerds, except with more improved quality of costumes. Too bad for her, I guess.
