/cgl/ - Cosplay & EGL

I'm working on a sword, pic related is my blender mockup that I'm currently recreating with foam. I'd like the blade to seperate from the hilt at the spot I marked with a red X in the second image for ease of transportation and storage. What can I use to attach the blade to the hilt? I was thinking a strong magnet but I'm kind of scared that the magnet won't hold the blade if I start swinging the sword around, and I can't figure out how, if at all, I could have the two parts screw together at this point.
