I agree with you so much, anon. I'm a HUGE sucker for oldschool and am totally nostalgic for it. I'd say about half of my wardrobe is all pre-2006, and not because I purposefully collected that way, but it's just how I ended up with buying what I really loved. There's a lot I love about current lolita, and I am a fan of OTT for the most part, even if I don't do it myself, but nothing compares to the simpler, more carefree designs. There is a ton of negativity now in Lolita that I never saw in it years ago, though there always were some small issues (just not like they are now), but the biggest thing I miss is how the clothing was much less about striving for perfection and more about just doing what you loved because you knew you looked weird, anyways.
