>Me and a friend studied Japanese for about six years because we figured that since we're already into anime, Japanese games, etc., we might as well learn the language so we can import and understand things without waiting on localizations
>At this point our grip on the language is pretty damn solid, with only issues in some Kanji and more advanced grammar
>Talking to each other in moonspeak out of boredom at a con (Keep in mind this is a white dude with cropped blonde hair talking to a black guy with knee-length dreads here)
>Some weeb approaches us and decides to chatter their broken as shit Japanese at us, missing all kinds of articles and honorifics
>Start insulting her in Japanese with a smile on our faces, pretty much saying "Your Japanese is terrible, stop speaking the language."
>I'm assuming she took it as a compliment because we were smiling and left with "ITADAKIMASU!" which I'm assuming she thought meant "thank you".
>Wind up seeing her later at an In-N-Out because we were hungry as shit
She introduces us to her "Kawaii Nee-san" and other friends
