I'm in somewhat of the same boat as you.
The mentality really destroys a lot of chances at social interaction at cons, especially around women, as it will just turn into worrying over every single action and word taken as creepy. its fucking exhausting and turns cons into an unfun nightmare experience.
Pls start small and try your best to just not be overly aggressive/needy/desperate with talking to anyone. I try to stay away from complimenting anyone's looks (like instead of telling someone they look cute in that cosplay, I just say the cosplay turned out great or some neutral shit like that) or saying anything that would imply I consider them attractive, and I don't touch anyone unless I'm already friends with them and know they're comfy with me touching them.

If you're the same anon, yeah that's just how it seems to work anywhere you go.
Please hit up the gym and get swole if you haven't started to do so yet. Even if they don't directly state it, it really makes a world of difference in the eyes of both genders even if you have a less than desirable face.

Going to a con solo tomorrow and I'm kinda nervous as I'd like to try talking to people and make friends.
