I've been going through it for a while now and don't really feel like talking about it, but, to sum up the Lolita-related part of it, the clothing is unpractical and uncomfortable and it keeps me from actually enjoying wearing it. So I've been going back and fourth wondering wether I should keep up with Lolita or not. There's a little more to it than that but that's the relevant part.

I can relate to how you feel here. For me, modern Lolita style doesn't hold the same magic old school does, even if it is beautiful. They are so different! Of course I happily focus on old school, but it's still a bit sad that what made me love Lolita isn't in anymore. I also really miss the feeling of a solid subculture and the lifestyle. I honestly don't know if I would have gotten into Lolita without it. Maybe it's a bit silly but it does leave you with a bitter feeling.

Oh I didn't mean to imply all newer Lolitas aren't interested, just that, on the whole, there isn't a lot of interest. But it is nice to hear that at least some newer Lolitas are wearing it and interested!

This is exactly how I wear Lolita. I prefer non-print pieces but I do love certain prints, and when I wear them I still coordinate them in the old way even if it's a modern style dress.
