First time putting together my own costume.

I'm trying to put Ghostbusters outfit together and I've found the perfect flight suit for my size. The problem is, the velcro for airforce patches is too far down and to the right of where the name tag is supposed to be on the uniform. It has stitches, so it is removable, but is there a way I can get it off without showing hundreds of tiny holes? And if not, is there any way that I can cover them up?

Sorry if this is stupid, but I have no background in sewing or stitching or anything, and would appreciate any positive feedback.
