Tbh I think short hair can work with lolita, but it has to be properly styled and a flattering haircut for the person. A Twiggy-esque pixie cut would be adorable adorned with a headbow.

I do agree that bsolf is too coddley though. I managed to skip the ita phase by doing a ton of research about lolita. My early coords had parts that could be nitpicked, but it’s not that hard to not be outright ita.
Big sisters and middle sisters also all focus on easy to answer questions that really only need a quick google search or with common sense, so you’ll get a ton of replies to “do I need a petticoat?” but little to no replies on legitimate questions like coord suggestions on a hard to coord dress.
