Why is the help thread so far down? Let me bump this.

I am working on building some light up Flandre wings, yet my electrical engineer misunderstood my original designs, so we had to accommodate some changes.

The wires. All the wires. I designed this with plans to have the wires run inside the wings and only hang out small holes with LEDs. This unfortunately did not work out, so we are now attaching all of the wires on the underside of the wings. Once everything is painted black, do you think this would be terribly noticeable?
I've considered giving it some artistic flare and adding some sort of texture along the top to perhaps balance it out and draw the eye away from the wires, but I can't really decide on what I'd like to do, or how I'd do it. Any input?

Also, this would have been a problem regardless:
The wires hang down to point the LEDs toward the ground. My plan has the crystals swinging freely rather than attached directly to the wing. They'll have a large enough opening that they can swing 'freely' around the LED. But even if I attach them to the wing with fishing line, the wires are still noticeable. I likely won't be able to mask them entirely, but if I wanted to make them as invisible as possible, what color should I paint them? Something neutral like a matte brown grey, so camera flashes don't reflect too hard? Black, like the rest of the actual wing? Or matching colors of the crystals?

(In the image, see the closest light for the wires I'm talking about; I don't have many clear photos of what I mean.)
