both are good.

Here's the Kumoricon 2015 winner for example.

Hello all, I will be going to a convention this summer and usually the mascots look quite nice and two or three people usually cosplay the mascot. However, this year, there's this thing.

Now, I already know that preteens are going to attempt to cosplay this and that it is going to come out terribly because of the fact that this would not translate to a real-life cosplay very well at all. For example, I could see the shorts being done very badly and the shirt being sewn together as one piece because the shirt would not be able to stay up on its own. Also terrible sewing.

What modifications do you guys suggest to make this cosplayable? I was thinking of making the shirt-vest thing and shorts into shortalls so that my midriff doesn't show, and a loose striped shirt underneath. I could sew on the sun and moon and clouds pattern on the coveralls and attach a light blue sash around the belly. Also, I plan to make the shorts a bit shorter than the picture, and wear vertically striped OTKs. I also hope to add a muted-coloured randoseru.

Basically, what suggestions do you make to make this design less shit cosplay-wise?
