That would explain why humans have gender roles but not why trolls would have gender roles in the first place. The only biological difference we can see in between male and female trolls are boobs. Why does some trolls have boobs and why are these trolls considered female?
The reason we get from hussie is pretty much this:
>Troll have boobs because they are female
>Troll is female because they have boobs.

And unless Trolls have some kind of important distinction between gender (such as canonically different genitals needed for reproduction, which is pretty much outruled by the fact that trolls don't separate their sexual attraction by if it is aimed towards the different or same gender), there really is no actual reason. And as a non-binary individual myself, I am just really mad that such a great opportunity for representation was lost because the author doesn't know shit about gender.

Maybe the session that created Beforus and Alternia was ruled by humanoid slugs or something.
