Many male serial killers were on the better looking side. Was pretty essential for the men, since it made it easier to gain a stranger's trust. Also, almost every criminal study has shown men rape for the feeling of power and control rather than being unable to obtain sex legitimately. Those beta-thirsters "creeping" probably don't have the actual determination to rape you. You are far more likely to be raped on a "date" than by a random person, especially at a convention, so essentially you would have to unknowingly put yourself in a compromising situation for the rapist in question to take advantage of you. Whether by being goaded into drinking by someone, or meeting somewhere alone with them, etc. That situation of course, is not typically something you would agree upon without trusting the rapist, and naturally people you find attractive you will find easier to trust.
So yes, the neckbeard incarnation of the male "creep" is provably far less of a threat for aggressively sexually assaulting someone than the attractive guys approaching you in a non-autistic manner.
