I commented a few years back that 3F seems to have morphed into cheap print dresses when really, I loved them many years ago for their gorgeous hats. It was really weird to me, their old site is gone and they used to have so many different interesting headwear. Now they're down to maybe two cuts of their bonnet -- there's one that everyone wears, it's the same build except with different materials and colours all the time.

Someone commented back that what happened was, the person who makes these lovely hats have left. So 3F went in a totally different direction. If you're reading old blogs you're going to find a lot of people raving about them when they were making interesting hats, or people who knew them before and didn't realise how much they've changed. And it's also why they're stuck with whatever bonnet pattern they have left and can't bring back the other interesting hats they used to have.

Well..... I'd say I'm not a fan of their dresses, but if you've seen them on the tiny Asian models, they're positively dwarfed by how big the dresses are. Then you see them on western models and the clothes actually look right. So I'd say if you're big boned or just not-petite, 3F might be your best chance at not looking like a giant squeezed into a tiny dress. I'd take that over giant itas squeezing themselves into tiny dresses anyday, so.

Fair enough, their headwear business was doing well and pretty well-liked. It's their clothing line that debuted later and .....not well-regarded.

Their headwear was fine until that one model of bonnet hat became the only thing they made and they propagated everywhere in many colours, but only that one model. They used to have a wider variety of stuff but their old gallery just sort of vanished off their own webpage several years ago.

I sometimes wonder exactly what happened. They did better as a small... smallerer indie-er brand that anyone who didn't speak Japanese didn't know about, than an international indie brand that sometimes shows up to overseas cons.

Ah well.
