What's up with all the extra security everywhere? My badge was being practically torn from my neck today to make sure it was legit down every hallway. Are there fake badges abound this year?

So /cgl/, with Anime Expo 2013 next week, I wanted to ask something.

How many of you have ever snuck into the exhibit hall, panels, or events without a badge? or with a forged badge?

I ask because I've been forging my AX badge for 3 years now and sneaking in hasn't exactly gotten any harder. However this year security is said to be pumped up by a lot, and there will be more random badge checks. I have a couple really close friends at my university's anime club who are part of staff at AX, and they tell me that AX has hired a LOT more security people this year than normal.

The only close call I ever had that I remember was getting into a panel where some dyke was part of the security team and was doing random badge checks. She was going right for me but luckily her superior called her and she didn't get to me.

Also, do any of you stay overnight at the expo itself? As in, not sleeping at a hotel, but staying up wandering the expo, or finding a nice hidden spot to sleep in until people show up the next day?
