I'm getting really sick of everyone defending their gay pairings like they defend gay rights. And if you don't like the same pairings they do (god forbid) they call you homophobic or oppressive or something like that.

This is the reason my friend has declined from a vidya cosplayer to a bandwagonner. She was going to begin work on XIII-2 Lightning, and then changed her mind and is going as Vanellope instead. She also plans to go as Sarah Marshall from the movie of the same name. Decent quality can be achieved with less effort, more immediate popularity.

And guess what she told me when I said I was going to go as Giroro?

I feel as though we are going in opposite directions. While she hops on wagons and throws together casual as fuck cosplays, I'm aiming for grander things demanding bigger props and more intricate makeup.

Guess that's another thing that grinds my gears. Blatant lack of effort. People who slack when you know they can do better. And on the other end of the spectrum, people who never seem to improve by even a marginal amount.
