I am assuming the whole empire waist hate is in regards to Lolita dresses specifically? (If that's the case, more often than not I would agree.)

If not, then I am sure nothing anyone shows you will look good in your opinion. That's fine.

I love the empire waist in gowns specifically and I have seen some other kinds of dresses that look good in my opinion.

I think the difficult part is that it certainly doesn't look good on everyone and even on most body types. I would also agree it is super easy to look like a maternity garment since it is a good style for pregnant women.

It was a style that looked best on me when I had small breasts and very thin. I couldn't pull it off now if I wanted to in my opinion.
