Tons. Long before I got into lolita, and still to this day.

Very very very few

I didn't know lolita dresses were way cuter than represented in anime for a long time. I missed out on the release years I would have really enjoyed.

For the same reason they don't get many things right, their main goal (most) is to make something marketable. Characters that can be recognized by silhouette, hit certain tropes and key buying demographics (read horny dweebs here), not a copyright infringement, and of course they probably only know lolita fashion from the outside or a rough introduction.

I like Iijima Yun as for once a fun casual lifestyle lolita character that has a roll out organizer stocked with a tea set and snacks. (I do that.) The outfits aren't perfect but you can see clearly with her classical inspired work outfits how easy it is to tone down the look by getting a longer skirt and going easy on hair accessories in a much more realistic way.
