Just finished my first insert. Next time I think I might put some cotton batting between the cloth and hatching so it give a plush effect where things are pinned through.
Why don't more tutorials mention using this stuff? It's great. It supports the window to the very edges perfectly and it was easy to get a perfect cut, and I was able to pull my fabric perfectly taut by the same method you use to install a drum head moving across from counter point to counter point.
