So I had a weird experience with my cosplay being mistaken for something else.
>Cosplaying as Velouria from Fire Emblems Fates
>Sitting on the stairs at the convention waiting on my group of friends
> Suddenly a middle age Hispanic couple in nice business attire approaches me
>The lady approaches me excitedly and asks if I'm Little Red Riding Hood
>Don't have the heart to say no given how enthusiastic she was
>She asks for a photo with me
>I oblige and go wait somewhere else after

The convention was a small one held at a college, so I assume the couple just picked the wrong weekend to visit their child.

Oh and recently at NYCC my friend was cosplaying Annie from LoL. Someone said "Nice Cheshire Cat cosplay." I could sense the seething from my friend for a good 10 minutes. But she calmed down after a few people actually recognized who she was shortly after that encounter.
