here goes...

All my friends became o b e s e

All
Of
Them

I should specify that this is my cosplay/weeb group, the friends I have outside of them are all pretty normal and/or thin. I never thought their weight would pose issues to us as friends, but they want to do group cosplays, and I feel like a shitty person, but I would be genuinely a little embarrassed to be seen with them at cons or get posted somewhere.

The largest girl in our group weighs a somewhere between 380 - 400 pounds. It happened during her undergrad, but she was always chubby before. She 100% has a binge eating disorder, but without the throwing up. My other friend gained like maybe 50 pounds since highschool, but she doesn't seem to bad, and the other one has been around the 220 pound range for the past three years.

I've known them since the 6th grade, but lately I'm distancing myself, and when I vented about this to one of my other friends, she thought it was shallow. So I feel like shit.

I'm also sometimes at the butt of their jokes because I feel like fat people think it's OK to pick on the skinny one in the group for...everything?? Because I have it "easy", and if I'm wearing a new outfit, one of them might point out "I wish I could wear that, but I'm not a twig."

Backhanded compliments galore
