I will agree with Larpsocks, but temper it with the idea of playing nonhuman just to avoid much of the weeb aspect.

I was invited to a weeb larp, set in fantasy not!Japan. It got canceled due to weather, but I still have a whole gameplan for it. Seeing as I am a big (both weight and build) hairy guy, I was going to to toss on my Kendo Do (body armour), make a kilt out of tiger print faux fur, get some orc tusk and horn prosthetics and paint myself red, to go as a mountain oni character. I got the idea after seeing this Kappa girl pic, which is another option.

Other options are various beast folk. Nezumi (ratfolk), Tengu (crow folk), fox folk whos name escape me, tenuki.... Or just wear a mask. The Scorpion Clan in Legend of Five Rings ALL wear some form of mask as a cultural tradition. You could also be a Noh or Kabuki based character.

I got invited to a pseudo-japanese themed larp. Think Legend of Five Rings or MTG: Kawigama setting.

I was asked to be an NPC for two characters, a murderous wandering Ronin (on account competitive Kendo background) and possibly painting myself red, and running around drunk in a "tiger skin" skirt being an oni, because I am big and drink a lot and can cause wanton asshattery

There is no way this will not be not-weeby. It is the nature of the beast. It does beg the question if I should do it, and be as over-the-top in character as possible. Suggestions?
