i have a friend who i love dearly but she always expects me to make her fucking costumes. for free nonetheless. i hate it. there have been cons where neither of us have finished costumes because she wanted me to make hers too in an unreasonable timeframe.
every year she says hey! can you teach me how to sew? and i enthusiastically say yes! of course!
and then she puts it off until the last minute and cannot make her costumes. so i have to do it. i hate it.
this year i’m going to put my foot down. i don’t want to say no to her but i can’t take this anymore. i don’t want to spend 10 hours of each goddamn day sewing things that aren’t for me.
i’m more mad about this ordeal this year because it’s looking like she’s hoping i’ll sew two costumes for her friend too. for free. she wants me to make four costumes. for free. i already have two time intensive costumes to make for myself and the con is in a few months. she knows this. i taught myself how to sew when i was 14, why can’t she put the effort into learning with someone holding her hand the whole way through?
sorry for the rant, i’m tired of this and can’t talk about this to anyone.
