I disagree, I think bodyline is great for beginners, if you're not sure if the shape of the clothing is going to look good with your body/height/face/age/whateva or not.

Stick to their cotton garments, but it's about Target quality, more recently released items are better.
I'm a US 4-6 (on cgl I am known as a "landseal" or, small landwhale, as I fit perfectly into bodyline's M size) and 5'6" so no way was I about to drop 200 on a dress that had a high chance of not fitting my 93 cm bust/ 73cm waist

Best petticoats are NOT bodyline, they are from (depending on who you ask) Dear Celine, Classical Puppets, and I have heard good things about Malco Modes (square dance petticoats) which might be easier to find in the US, but somewhat expensive (50 usd range)
