Yeah, the games do different things well imo. VLR was more ambitious but didn't have the same sort of suspenseful atmosphere - not to mention that cliffhanger ending with no sequel in sight. I also had no expectations coming into 999 and very high expectations coming into VLR. VLR was still a very good game, though. I'd love to see your Phi sometime! I want to do her too but I don't have her round face, so I stick to other characters.
