The iron chicken is a really dumb tactic used by just about every SCA sword and shield fighter out there. Basically it means hiding behind your indestructible shield with your weapon heals at an angle over the top to sluff off any incoming blows. People who use it almost exclusively use wrap shots, the most ineffective blow against any kind of armor on the battlefield. It is a meta tactic of the sca and exploits the rules of the game in favor of real swordplay.
