Well maybe anon lives in a place where not a lot of houses are made out of wood, or where everything is very recently built so there are no old houses without fireproofing?
I had a house fire a while back (electrical fire, like >>7060069), and since I had a house that was built in the 70's, I think, it just spread crazy fast.

Housefires don't show up in the media a lot, unless it was huge (like bush fires) and/or there were many fatalities.

I didn't hear about housefires at all before mine, but afterwards I was hearing everyone's story of pretty damn recent fires.

I've also got a handful from pastelbat and too many from pastel raindrops, but I won't post them unless someone wants to see one of them. I know how tedious it can be to scroll through the same person picture after picture.
