I have fun even if I go alone. Here's some protips.
1. Late at night in the DoubleTree you can meet people. People are sitting there at 2am have nowhere to go, usually have card against humanity and are approachable
2.Talking to people in line is possible. They are approachable if they're not in a group, and again unless they have their 3DS out they have nothing better to do. If they aren't looking at their phone try bringing up what the panel is about. I did this in the name that mobile suit Gundam lineup
