I've noticed that here people seem to be looking for clear totes to put their bags/merch in but in Japan the majority of pictures I see are just canvas totes with the merch hanging off it.

Is it just a personal preference or are non-Japanese itabag owners more cautious about losing merch because of how expensive it is to replace anything lost/stolen?
