LARP or reenactment? The two most import things are quite easy for larp.

#1: The Chiton. Its a big rectange and two fibulea. Get some nice linen and be sure to wrap fully. Pic related. You can wear it on one, or both shoulders. If you're worried about modesty, you can sew half way up the open side to close off the skirt (I do this for my wrestling Chiton).

#2 is the Aspis. The iconic shield is super easy to make for larps, as you can get a large plastic snow-sledding disk and face it with foam/platidip. Its 90% of the defense of a Greek/Etruscan anyways, so invest in making it nice. https://www.amazon.com/Snow-Sled-Saucer-Heavy-Duty/dp/B00HGJ0UIU

After that, get a weapon. In order of importance is spear, sword and dagger. From there, invest in a helmet, then greaves and only finally body protection.

Obviously, a good pair of leather sandals is also a must.
