I have a cringe story that I HATE to think about.

>Attend little south texas expo
>Not a cosplayer, but girlfriend is getting in to it and being a photographer by trade, get to have a lot of fun with pictures as we wander around
>Meet Nicole Marie Jean. Girlfriend freaks out, knows who she is, shows me picture after picture until I come across one I recognize - Fem-Bane
>She runs up to NMJ
>I chit-chat with her boyfriend about how to make armor parts since he was dressed as Batman at the time
>Dude's bro as fuck. says they'll be at the same afterparty as myself and my girlfriend
>Cool

>Show up at afterparty, only get to talk fleetingly with NMJ's boyfriend again since they went in costume (He was gambit, I THINK she was either Shadowkat or Jean grey) and everybody wants pictures
>Night wears on, get plastered
>After losing a costume context (I was wearing my Boba Fett zip-up hoodie, why not), attempt to make conversation with NMJ's boyfriend again...think his name was Spencer...and end up stumbling back and stepping on her boot
>hear a squeak, might have gotten her foot
>spill spaghetti and shuffle back to table
>For some reason, with my groups table next to theirs, decide its fine to set my chair sideways as if I'm part of both circles
>watch some karaoke
>after a while girlfriend and other friends and I decide it's time to go
>"WAIT", I announce while downing the remainder of a bottle. "I HAVE TO SAY BYE TO SPENCER AND NICOLE"
>Ladies first
>practically yank NMJ by the arm to say bye and apologize for stepping on her shoe
>recalling it now, she looked kind of freaked out
>Vaguely remember asking Spencer again if my Boba Fett helmet was cool
>"but seriously, you're not bullshitting, it's cool, right?"
>walk outside and throw up

This is why I decided to start cosplaying with my girlfriend. Much easier to hide my identity in case I make a giant dick of myself again.
