the wine is pretty but this cut is god awful. the bodice is so boring and the skirt shape is awkward for the style it’s going for. I love the print so much but everything else is so wrong with it

Actually, you can judge the size of the bodices by how they sit on mannequins (which seem to be a uniform size worldwide for some reason). Most AP dresses fit the mannequins pretty neatly, but Mercator and Victorian Letter’s long jsks tend to have fabric wrinkles and pooling around the waist, the bodices are generally too long for the mannequin’s torso so it always sits weird because the dress waistline is trying to get past the mannequin's hips.

The other example you can look up is Cosmic jsk, the stock photos have saggy boobs. But irl, the dress looks decent on larger-than-small girls, it’s the mannequin’s boobs that’s too small to fill out the dress.

Only Dolly Cat might be made for smaller girls, since there’s little to no such fabric distortion on their mannequins.

The other thing is, if girls are already chosing the high-waisted kiddy cuts still ahead of the less kiddy cuts that are still made in their size, it looks even less promising if you want them to make dresses with even longer torsos. Their main clientele has spoken, and you’re not it. Which was the main point of my post in the first place.

Mercator Antique long JSK in lavender? I'm actually wondering because I didn't have the money for it when it was first released, but it's one of my favourite AP prints and I'd like to know if the value has changed at all.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but how do you predict the value of Mercator Antique will change over time? Would it be unwise to wait for a secondhand one?

It appears AP's venture into longer dress lengths has continued. Look no further than Mercator Antique Store. Not going to buy the dress (I hate bunnies on a print), but the JSK is done in a similar style to Victorian Letter which I bought for my birthday.
