Even Koko the Galrilla had more common sense than you. You are simultaneously living in the early 2000’s and also the Gamergate era, where “gaze-theory” bullshit was still relevant and taken seriously by Twitter (emoji)astrologists(emoji) the world over. We absolutely know what we want— But, as YOU should know, the feeling of wanting something is malleable and subject to change. It is not always a rational feeling, though wants do tend to follow simple pattern. Sometimes, men make compromises in the name of love, just like you do. There is no universal beauty standard, either. My previous ex had triple D hooters, but was barely chubby. My current girl is a heavy C lightweight with 80’s hair. Can you believe I liked them for different reasons? Or, is that impossible in your worldview?

IMHO, men never fetishized real gals; gals fetishized themselves to appeal to men. It is, in Japan at least, a fetish fashion that originally emerged to capture and harness Western sex appeal. That’s WHY is looks so bizarre, and why Western guys just don’t get it. The ones that do are the real gyaruo catching stds from real gals at your local dance club or college bar while you talk shit on 4Chan.
