Honestly, I think that it can look good if the cosplayer aims for accuracy. If you have to think about what character it is, then it sucks. If you do something totally out of character, like pulling a Jessica Nigiri, then it sucks.

I think this version of Bilbo is really cute.

I actually think Kuro is your best bet. The straight fringe should suit your face. For something different, even though I know gender bending isn't particularly liked by /cgl/, I think this version of Bilbo (attached) is tasteful and it suits you.
