I'm actually glad it's so thick since everywhere I look it's all thin and patchy shironuri and I definitely didn't want my first try at it to end up like that.

Do you use just generic face sponges like pic related or have you found something better? I usually get these since they're disposable once you're done but I'm not sure how they'd hold up against thick paint.
