I have a question.

I just recently bought an a-line skirt that's much longer than any other piece in my wardrobe (it's a couple of inches below my knee, so I guess it could be considered tea-length). I have a nice a-line petti but it's not nearly as long as my dress and makes a funny tent if I wear it at my natural waist, however if I pull it down a bit it looks fine. The dress itself doesn't allow for a lot of poof anyway, so I was wondering if it would be in bad form for me to just wear the petti I have? Do more experienced lolitas have this weird sixth-sense to know if I'm cheating in this way?
Pic semi-related, it's a really similar cut to my skirt (but my petti gives it a little more poof at the bottom if I pull it down a bit).
