As someone from the outside looking in (never been to any cons), has Comic Con become less and less, for lack of a better term, "nerdy" in the past few years? More and more it seems to be about film, tv and promoting the two rather than actual bloody comics, meeting the creators behind them and celebrating fandom.

So, to anyone who's been going there for a long time, have you felt this change? Has it become mainstream to the point where all the nerdy, fan-appeal of it that it was built around, lessened? Basically, are you still excited about it each year?
