I'm a freelance programmer doing a few jobs which makes some decent money. My fiance has a full-time corporate gig which pays really well.
>How much of your income/spending money do you spend on cosplay/jfashion?
Probably $600 or so monthly, not counting pretty frequent gifts from the fiance and friends.
>Are you in debt? How bad?
Fiance has student loans to pay off, and I don't come with any debt yet. It helps that he's super frugal and doesn't have expensive hobbies like some people (ahem)
>Most expensive costume/coord?
Over $500 on a dream dress and its accessories.
>What are you saving for right now?
I don't really save, I just get what I want when I see it. Haven't had any issues so far.
>Saving for any other major expenses (emergencies, car, house, retirement, etc)?
Retirement and emergencies like medical bills etc. We live in an apartment and the car is paid off.
>Budgeting tips?
Get what you want, within reason. Lolita is pretty fleeting and you don't know when you'll see that dress again. Don't spend what you don't have.

I love the thrill of bidding on merch auctions and getting big hauls from Taobao but after the initial rush fades I just feel empty. Everything I buy just sits unused in my room except 1-2 times a year. With all the money I get I'm going to put it towards traveling and the excitement of exploring and trying new things. Just hoping it'll make me happier.
