Spandex really isn't that hard to sew. The issue I think that always comes up is that CHEAP spandex is really annoying to sew (and I'm talking like that vaguely shiny dancewear spandex that joanns stocks,) but higher quality stuff sews like a dream.

The cheap stuff always seems to pull and pucker, but the better stuff doesn't really do it as bad - for example, one of my in-progress gloves for lucy. It's the metallix spandex you can get from spandexworld, the edge is serged (though not super neccessary,) turned under, and top stitched with a stretch stitch.

You just have to make sure you don't pull the fabric too much and just let the feed dogs move it for you. But the better stuff is really easy to sew :3
