Brought $300 for merch and ended up spending my last dollar. I did go over about $50 but honestly could've been worse. I made out like a very happy bandit. I got everything I set my eyes on in AA before the con. Only drawback was dropping a sticker on my way out and having to go back and buy it.

Pros:
>Didn't wait in line long
>Looked at everything in Dealer's Hall and AA
>Went with my best friend
>Didn't have to pay for parking because we got dropped off and picked up this year
>Brought food this year and didn't spend an arm and a leg on shitty con food

Cons:
>The smell, per usual
>Pre-con anxiety stomach ache
>Got bumped a million times and really couldn't look at the booths as fully as I wanted to because it was so crowded. I looked at every booth, but most of them were only a cursory glance. I would've really liked to have a 2-day pass to stress less about doing it all in one day
>Wasn't able to cosplay this year. Couldn't make a costume in time and didn't want to ruin it travelling through the halls.
>Didn't interact much with others because of extreme shopping tunnel vision, but few artists and vendors I talked to were lovely.

>will you be coming back to AX 2024?
Yes, even if I have to go alone. This year really showed me just how much of an amazing event AX can be with artists travelling internationally and the amazing vendors. Despite all its flaws, I really love AX.
>you going to Totally Not Anime Los Angeles 2023?
Yes! This will be my first year. I'm tempted to join the masquerade but I've never done a skit before and I'm nervous. My sewing skill looks good from afar but my lines are messy still. Might join next year instead and just try to view ALA for the fullest.
