I work and live in Japan, about an hour away from Tokyo. I live in an apartment with a tatami room and a kotatsu and a balcony straight out of a slice of life anime. Money is meaningless to me, I get paid more than I know how to spend and my expenses are paid by other people. Weeaboo dreams do come true.

Though there is a price... That military life. Not much storage space on a ship, I cant never be a lifestyle lolita, and I gotta keep my record spotless. Luckily, even if North Korea decides to throw a bitch fit my ship is on the blocks so somebody else would have to go handle it. Also, the Navy is full of nerds. I walked in to work one day zombified and all I had to do to explain was say Madoka.

tl;dr, I got money to burn but nothing to burn it on

Not /cgl/ related:
and sorry for the wall of text

I'm autistic. a legitimate sperg, daignosed at age 12.
I'm not great with words, though I try my best. Its very stressfull because when I have the time to think and say things, I sound educated, but when put on the spot I'll say a crapload of things that don't make sense. speaking to others is a difficult thing for me.

Whenever I get into an argument, or are confronted, I walk away to calm myself down and try to formulate what I'm trying to say. However, if I'm confronted before I can think things through, I will autimatically lose the argument, no matter what it is. Hell, I could probably lose an argument on "why Hitler is bad" if someone confronted me. I recently lost an argument on why racism is shitty against a highschool friend of mine. still makes me feel like shit, he's probably still so fucking smug.

Anyways, since I have a boyfriend now, and we are living together, we get into arguments sometimes.
after my time of walking away I usually go "here's why I'm right" or "I'm sorry I was wrong"

However, he can't fucking deal that I need time away from arguments, follows me around the house saying "see you can't say anything because I'm fucking right"
and lately, I've picked up a plastic spray bottle, filled it with water and spray him like he's a pet or some shit just so he'll back off.

I'm not good with words, so I'm asking for someone's help on this. how can I tell him that I need time away from an argument without sounding retarded? I've tried explaining this to him but when he's upset (like every human) he's very irrational.

Alright, buckle yourselves up because this is a long one.

I've been to one pop-up maid cafe in the states. It was at an anime convention in Texas, can't remember if it was A-Kon or AnimeFest, but either way it was pretty low quality. We played Jenga with our maid and had shitty tea and watched the maids sing anime theme songs. The enthusiastic service did not make up for the terrible and overpriced food. Maids were 4/10

In Akihabara I've gone to two, Grand Pirates and @home cafe. Grand Pirates is some rinky-dink basement affair, but the food was delicious. The maids sang anime theme songs again. Maids were 6/10

@home cafe is a totally different animal. The maids were adorable despite their difficulty with English, the meal set I purchased was quite reasonable (2,600 yen for a drink, a meal, a dessert, and a photo with the maid of my choice. Combine that with the 600 yen fee for the table amounts to roughly $35, which is still better than some American places) and the food was amazing. Everything was instagram-worthy. Maids were 9/10

tl;dr, anime convention maid cafes tend to be run by volunteers and kind of bad, Akihabara cafes can run the gamut from bad to good. Definitely recommend @home cafe if you ever visit glorious nippon.

P.S. it doesn't really count as a maid cafe, but the AKB48 cafe in Akihabara (duh) is worth a visit. It's right next to the Gundam cafe.
