Hey anon, it's often not the case that bangs are a no go for someone, more the particular style of bang.

You have a quite a wide, square face so short blunt bangs, and blunt bangs in general would probably be a very bad idea. Soft side-swept bangs however would look great, or even possibly soft and textured forward styled bangs.

I think a hairstyle like pic related would really suit you, I think the subtle layering, texture and side sweep would be especially flattering. Your hair needs more texture and movement and is kinda a non-style at the moment to be honest - no bad thing though as you have a great staring point and enough hair for a whole new style.
