I'm not sure if this is the right thread to ask this, but I'll give it a shot.

What's the general consensus on toning down a wig for a cosplay if the character's hair is just insane? I'm talking something like pic related, where it's just not functional to wear something that large. Is it frowned upon to just make something that looks like this, but shorter/less voluminous?

I'm new to cosplaying and this is something I don't really know about.

Any ideas how I could get a wig with this much hair? Would combining two wigs be enough?
