That is exceptionally helpful, thank you. I was actually looking at Best Step from Sears earlier but wasn't sure if that was the correct kind. I tried looking at craft stores but the sections were way too small to cover some of the areas I was going to need for the design.

I don't have a heat gun, but I think I can borrow a blow dryer from someone. I figured that supports or a frame would be required for the area around the neck anyhow. I have no idea how I'm going to do that and keep it lightweight enough to not be a pain. Wire frame sandwiched between two sheets? Might be too bulky then. I guess trial and error it's going to have to be.

Is it possible to seal and paint the interior as well? Because of the design both the back and front are going to be highly visible in places. I'm not sure how strange the that print is going to look. The guides I'd seen like this one
http://entropyhouse.com/penwiper/costumes/helmsdeep.html
mention metallic paint is going to be flaky as fuck and recommend something called Rub-b-Buff. Do you know if your choice sealant would work well with that?

I probably should have chosen something way simpler as a first armour related project but hey, I've got almost nine months to fuck up and retry before I intend to wear this out anyhow and like you mentioned it's relatively cheap and easy to find is a huge plus. Again, you've been a huge help.
