Unfortunately it's not bait but this isn't actually my first project, I've just never done anything even close to this complicated before. I'm good at making props so I usually just make a prop and then buy the clothing part of my costume.

Anyway as far as specific questions go what's the best way to go about the "armored" sections of his outfit? I've seen people use EVA foam for this character but it's rather form fitting so I was wondering if using fabric for armor (like what most people who cosplay Corrin from Fire Emblem do) might be a better approach. Also I'm not quite sure what to do about the pattern on the waist cape, and what the best way to get that kinda effect on it.
