The lining is full with no holes. They used this trick to attach both the lining and the outer to the bodice at the same time, plus the lining fabric has a bit of stretch. So even if the bodice lining is completely out of shape from the outer bodice, you’ll never notice because the lining stretches to compensate.

Personally this screams “cut cost” to me a lot more than the AP dresses -- you want fully lined, sure, but it’s made from cheap stretch lining in a way that uses less labour, and the precision of the bodice doesn’t need any kind of quality control since they’re using stretch lining.

I also think most of this negates the purpose of a lining as well -- imo, the lining is supposed to hide the seams so you feel comfortable in it, but here the waist seam directly faces your body. It’s also supposed to reduce stress on the outer fabric, but here the stretch lining will stretch any way your boobs are, so the full stress is still placed on the outer fabric. This entire lining just seems pointless and more like a marketing ploy to me so that you can tell lolitas “hey our dress is top tier because it’s FULLY lined. Not even Baby does that, and it’s only $50! What a bargain!”

In my opinion, anyway.
