I agree, though I do love bxw to start with. Also like this kind of lace with jewel tone velveteen or velour.
Meta had some really pretty white lace combos with emerald green, red and what I'd describe as a deep steel blue.
Also really love the combo of velveteen (in any color) with torchon(?) lace like old school Baby used (pic related), often the lace was the exact color of the fabric as well, so beautiful.
