I always love these threads, because they are amazingly helpful.

I want to try and do Jaffar from Fire Emblem, though I keep getting hung up on how to do his head.... thing.

I'm thinking about cosplaying this guy soon, but am a bit overwhelmed by the daggers.

What would probably be the best way to create these? I've never made any daggers before, let alone curved blades. I'm thinking of doing a PVC handle, then using spray adhesive/the like to put the guard on. My brain just shits out thinking of ways to affix the blade. I can't imagine it would be sturdy just drilling a small hole into the guard and gluing it in there.

I'm thinking of using maybe wood for the base, then Bondo'ing over it since it seems a lot of people use Bondo for this (though I've never used it yet). Perhaps craft foam instead, and either Bondo it or do a nice thin sheet of styrene.

Any suggestions for creating the blade and/or affixing it?
