>Whats your job
English teacher in Japan

>What did you study to work there?
English! Creative writing technically, but generally yeah English.

>Do you wear lolita/jfash to work?
Very very tame stuff. I get a lot more leeway with how I can dress than my other coworkers (they all mostly wear business suits or slacks with blouses and maybe a nice cardigan). I already stand out for wearing colors. But I'll work in some very toned down pieces. Requirements are gotta have the shoulders covered, no cleavage, and a modest length skirt so some lolita works pretty well for that. My go to is a nice high waisted skirt with a more work appropriate blouse but still cute with a bit of flare. I stick to solids generally since I dont want my outfits to look to busy. I also never wear a petti to work since I gotta maneuver in-between desks and I dont want to knock books off with a big skirt. It makes me feel cute and I like it a lot more than wearing a skirt suit to work every day. If I'm not wearing something lolita inspired I wear 50's style clothes.

>Stories/Reactions?
My coworkers often comment on how they like my stuff or my accessories, my third year girls also get a kick out of how I dress.

I've only been spotted in a full on coord maybe once or twice when out and about. Took my students a moment to recognize me. They just got super excited and wanted selfies and were telling me I looked nice. Fairly sure said selfies circulated around the school later, but thats more a thing of students never seem to believe teachers have a life outside of school.

There was one girl in my company, I've only heard a few snippets of stories. Apparently her first couple months she just came to work in full on sweet cords. If not sweet it was some other pretty stand out ish jfashion. The company had to politely tell her to tone it down. Hell even I sort of made my shift to toned down lolita very gradual from more standard teaching clothes.

>can't understand why non-LGBT girls are into it
Love live has the largest female following of all the idol shows. Maybe they don't see a male-less harem. Maybe they enjoy dancing for an audience and wearing cute clothes. Maybe they like the idea of doing idol performance as a group of friends without an older male producer or manager watching over them. You know, without a male gaze.

Maybe most women don't feel the characters are sexualized. Maybe most women don't see tin foil hat sexism creeping around every corner of their lives. No, that wouldn't make sense. You're the sensible one. The huge fanbase must be wrong or blind or hate their own gender when they spend dozens of hours recreating costumes and practicing dances.
